Lumberjack Nick Makes Thumbnails

It’s Friday already! Can you believe it? Hope you had a great week!

This past week has found me taking the first draft of my thumbnails (which is what the script is based on) and really nailing down the page layouts, i.e. the panels, the composition, the contrast, etc. At this stage I want to really have a rough idea of what the finished comic will look like and make sure it all makes sense before I move into actually creating the finished comic.

So far I have 8 pages of thumbs completed with the hopes of having the rest of the pages finished by next week. Though realistically it might take longer as I have some other projects coming up.

I’ve also been thinking about character design, setting design, and such. The thumbs that I’ve included below lack any real details as they are merely meant to express the composition. I also haven’t completely nailed down an art design yet. It will be similar to my usual style, but I’m thinking about trying to make it slightly less cartoony. I’m not really sure yet.

Anyway, here are the 8 completed panels. Please keep in mind that these are only meant to express composition and as such are pretty rough drawings.
