Hope you’re doing well and having a great Mooonday.
Super Blood has been coming along slowly due to my family moving from L.A. to San Diego. It’s been a crazy few weeks. We’re just about unpacked, but as you know it can take sometime before you're, if ever, fully moved into a place.
Also I went to Star Wars Celebration!
All that to say that I haven’t made much progress on Super Blood. That being said, I’ve been thinking a lot about its ending. I realized that I what I wanted the reader to wonder wasn’t coming across. Everyone just thought he shot himself. Which is what happens, but I wanted to leave the read to wonder if he shot himself before the moon came out from behind the clouds transforming him into the werewolf.
So I redid the ending a tiny bit, but I’m still not happy with it. I’ll honestly probably be rewriting that last page until the book is very near completion.
If you'd like to read the story with the updated ending, please check it out here.
Other than the ending, I’m also working on character design. I have, what I think is, a neat way to tie all of the characters together. It won’t be explicit but if you can figure it out then good on you. It’s honestly sorta silly.
Here is a quick sketch of what I think our “hero” will look like. This is far more realistic than what the final style will be, but this gives me a baseline to start simplifying and stylizing his face at least.
Aside from Super Blood, I’m also working on my next Lumberjack Nick webcomic. This is currently my main focus. It’s a tricky balancing act working on a comic book, webcomic, a job, and a family. Each one more important than the former, which means I’m thinking about prioritizing the webcomic over the comic book.
Super Blood is very important to me, but I think working on shorter form comics more will help make Super Blood even better in the long run.

Till next “week”!
